As a Mechanical Engineer I, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and developing high-tech semi- and fully-automated assembly and test systems. Essential Functions
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer request for quote, customer specifications, and PMD’s proposal to develop or determine feasibility of design or application.
- Work within design hour constraints, schedule constraints, and overall machine budget constraints.
- Work in a collaborative environment to make sure the designs developed are the most cost effective and will meet the customer’s requirements.
- Develop/review concepts to confirm the design will meet required performance metrics including cycle time, yield, uptime, CPK and Gage R&R.
- Design mechanisms, stations, machines using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks).
- Works with vendors to obtain competitive quotes for major purchased components.
- Create detailed fabrication drawings for all custom designed parts.
- Create detailed assembly drawings identifying each individual component
- Create a complete Bill of Material for each design/station.
- Release completed designs to Project Management
- Supports fabrication, assembly, debug and machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to customer requirements and specifications
- Observe safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Technical Skills: Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) preferred.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to apply engineering principles, think creatively, and analyze complex problems.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to Learn & Grow: Enthusiastic about expanding your knowledge and gaining hands-on experience.
- Minimal Travel: Occasionally travel up to 5%.
