As a Mechanical Engineer I, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and developing high-tech semi- and fully-automated assembly and test systems. Essential Functions

• Researches and analyzes data such as customer request for quote, customer specifications, and PMD’s proposal to develop or determine feasibility of design or application.
• Work within design hour constraints, schedule constraints, and overall machine budget constraints.
• Work in a collaborative environment to make sure the designs developed are the most cost effective and will meet the customer’s requirements.
• Develop/review concepts to confirm the design will meet required performance metrics including cycle time, yield, uptime, CPK and Gage R&R.
• Design mechanisms, stations, machines using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks).
• Works with vendors to obtain competitive quotes for major purchased components.
• Create detailed fabrication drawings for all custom designed parts.
• Create detailed assembly drawings identifying each individual component
• Create a complete Bill of Material for each design/station.
• Release completed designs to Project Management
• Supports fabrication, assembly, debug and machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to customer requirements and specifications
• Observe safety procedures.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.
  
  

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Technical Skills: Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) preferred.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to apply engineering principles, think creatively, and analyze complex problems.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to Learn & Grow: Enthusiastic about expanding your knowledge and gaining hands-on experience.
• Minimal Travel: Occasionally travel up to 5%.
