JOB SUMMARY
Machine Builder I is the entry level position in the machine build department. This position supports the Machine Build Lead with project related tasks and assignments. The position requires the use of basic hand tools, attention to detail, good communication skills, and a strong work ethic along with strong mechanical aptitude.
Essential Functions
- Assists the Machine Build Lead with day-to-day project related tasks and assignments.
- Assists in preparing and organizing the job site for assembly.
- Makes brackets and mounting components as specified by the project in collaboration with the Machine Build Lead.
- Makes alterations to fabricated and purchased components utilizing tool room equipment, as needed.
- Assembles fabricated and purchased components with assistance from other project team members.
- Performs tasks such as drilling, tapping, layout work, and mounting components.
- Observe safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School degree or GED.
- Vocational education in related field, preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
- Proficient with basic hand tools including hand drill, tape measure, and jig saw.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Time management
- Ability to multi-task
- Problem solving
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, percentages.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to accept coaching and training from Machine Build Job Lead(s).

- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment is primarily performed indoors around moving mechanical parts at a moderate noise level.
- Wear safety equipment, including proper PPE.
- Travel domestically and internationally, as required.
