What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Services Specialist position at Progressive Healthcare Providers?
This Health Services Specialist will serve as an integral part of the Healthcare Team and will assist with the administration of the day-to-day activities of the department. They will be responsible for ensuring administrative duties are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Provides support for healthcare staff and others as requested.
- Maintains and retrieves information as requested from records, emails, reports, and other related documents.
- Coordinates health care paperwork ensuring appropriate paperwork accompanies individuals to appointments.
- Ensures that physicians consultation forms are completed, signed and returned to nursing staff for review timely.
- Communicates with nursing staff regarding any issues with appointments.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating transportation to appointments and ensure appropriate staffing attends appointment.
- Enter information into Electronic Health Records.
- Assist in maintaining medication assistance records and ensure all files related are current.
- Assist in monitoring individual health records to ensure that all information is current and any concerns are brought to the nursing staff attention immediately.
- Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
- Creates and maintains a records management system.
- Scan and upload files to create digital copies and attach to appropriate records management system.
- Conducts routine audits to ensure integrity of records management system.
- Maintains office supplies and coordinators maintenance of office equipment.
- Answers telephone and provides information and assistance.
- Assist with admissions and discharges as directed.
- Assist with collection of documentation and file in appropriate locations.
- Assist with monthly healthcare paperwork as needed.
- Ability to work cooperatively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to relate a positive image to individuals, families, and the community.
- Must have compassion, patience, and ability to nurture.
- Must be able to read and write American English proficiently.
- Must maintain training competencies as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Verifiable 1 year work background along with proven reliability is required.
- Ability to work in close physical contact with people for providing personal hygiene assistance to individuals who cannot
- Must be physically capable of transferring and lifting persons who require physical assistance with or without reasonable
- Must be able to reach, bend, kneel and stand for long periods of time.
