What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at Progressive Diagnostics?
A Phlebotomist / Patient Care Representative for sample collection is needed to help Progressive Diagnostics (www.progressive-diagnostics.com) increase access to care for the citizens of Connecticut. Progressive Diagnostics is a Connecticut-based company headquartered in Trumbull and is one of the largest CLIA laboratories in New England. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, a team player, efficient and enjoy providing excellent customer service.
We are looking for a team of individuals who to help a state wide testing initiative. Testing will be for patients from all ages.
Daily Responsibilities This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of the work performed by this position.
- Traveling to multiple testing sites per day based on pre determined schedule.
- Registering patient information such as demographics, insurance and requisition forms.
- Collecting and preparing specimens for transport to the laboratory.
- Bringing Specimens to the laboratory for processing.
- Organizing and keeping inventory of supplies needed for sample collection.
- Bringing Samples back to Laboratory for processing.
Education & Work Experience
- Phlebotomy Certification
- 1-2 Years experience in Phlebotomy (preferred)
- Experience administering throat swab, nasal swab, or collecting patient samples is preferred.
- 3-5 years of work experience in a professional setting is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Data entry and specimen collecting preferred.

- The position does require a unique skill set of being able to prioritize multiple tasks at hand and maintain efficiency while multitasking.
- Testing will be performed for patients of all ages
Job Type: Part-time to Full-time up to hours depending on testing demand.
