Job Summary
The Clinical Director (CD) is responsible for overseeing the clinical team and programs, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and effective delivery of services to clients. This role works under the direction of the Clinical Operations Manager (COM) and provides leadership, supervision, and support to clinicians and program staff. The CD ensures clinical services align with organizational policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and mentor the clinical team, including therapists, counselors, case managers, and other direct service staff.
Program Oversight:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and services.
- Monitor program effectiveness, quality of care, and client outcomes, implementing improvements as needed.
- Ensure programs meet CARF, state, and federal regulatory standards and adhere to evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with the COM to align clinical services with organizational goals and operational strategies.
Clinical Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure clinical documentation meets organizational, regulatory, and insurance standards.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Louisiana Department of Health requirements, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and protocols for clinical services.
- Review and approve treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries as needed.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the clinical team and leadership, providing updates on program operations, staffing needs, and client outcomes.
- Collaborate with external partners, community agencies, and referral sources to support client care and program development.
- Support the COM in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for clinical services.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to enhance clinical skills and professional development.
- Facilitate clinical team meetings, case consultations, and peer review sessions.
- Ensure staff maintain required licensure, certifications, and compliance with continuing education requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required; Doctorate preferred.
- Active and valid clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of evidence-based clinical interventions, program development, and behavioral health best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to program sites.
