Position Summary:
The Sales Associate is a field‑driven role focused on generating new business through in‑person sales calls, prospecting, and strategic outreach. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities, presenting tailored solutions, and building strong client relationships that expand the company’s market presence.
In addition to acquiring new accounts, the Sales Associate will maximize revenue within existing business by upselling and cross‑selling based on client needs. With uncapped commission, this role rewards high performance and is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, relationship‑building, and consistently exceeding sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospects across multiple industries (banking, healthcare, higher education, pharma, manufacturing, government).
- Identify decision-makers and uncover opportunities through outreach, networking, and discovery meetings.
- Present PBS’s solutions with consultative selling, tailoring proposals to client needs.
- Manage the sales cycle from first contact through close, with accurate CRM tracking.
- Nurture strong client relationships for retention, cross-selling, and referrals.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, procurement, fulfillment) to ensure seamless customer experience.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Activity:
- Minimum of 50 outbound touches per week (calls, emails, LinkedIn, networking).
- 5–7 qualified discovery meetings scheduled per week.
- Pipeline:
- Maintain at least 3x quota in qualified pipeline at all times.
- Accurate sales forecasts submitted weekly.
- Revenue & Growth:
- $750K annual new revenue target (scaled for ramp-up year).
- Consistent quarter-over-quarter growth of at least 15%.
- Client Success:
- 80% customer retention rate within assigned accounts.
- At least 2 cross-sell/upsell opportunities closed per quarter.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of B2B sales experience preferred (print, furniture, supplies, or related industry a plus).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-starter with resilience, discipline, and a growth mindset.
- Proficient with CRM tools (HubSpot experience a plus).
