After School Chess Instructor

Progress with Chess, Ohio’s largest chess teaching organization, is seeking additional chess instructors for in person chess instruction to start immediately for the 2024-2025 school year. We are a non-profit organization that provides chess programs in over 60 schools and recreation centers in greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.

Orientation and teaching supplies are provided. New teachers typically assigned 1-3 one hour classes per week. Additional hours are available for more experienced instructors who are committed to teaching chess. Qualifying is simple. Applicants should:

• be available during after school hours on the days they wish to work
• possess reliable transportation
• pass a criminal background check
• have a moderate level of chess understanding
• be reliable and punctual!
• have excellent communication skills & a professional appearance

Instructors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner with students and administrators. Classroom skills are a plus, patience and enjoyment of children is essential.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 5 per week
