Job Summary
Progress Unlimited Inc. is seeking compassionate, reliable Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our residential homes.
Staff work as part of a team to provide:
✔ Supervision and guidance
✔ Behavior support
✔ Personal care
✔ Meal preparation
✔ Housekeeping
Most homes are located within a 10-mile radius of our Owings Mills office.
Applicants must have a reliable vehicle at all times.
Position Overview
We are looking for experienced, dedicated DSPs who are passionate about helping others grow, gain independence, and live meaningful lives.
In this role, you will provide hands-on support with daily living activities while encouraging independence and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Perform lifting and transfers as needed (this is a physical role)
- Administer medications (CMT/MBON required through Dimensional HealthCare Administration)
- Provide transportation to appointments and activities using your personal vehicle
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and participating in community outings
- Monitor and report changes in health and behavior
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and progress
- Ensure a safe, clean, and structured home environment
- Collaborate with team members, including nurses and support staff
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (required at all times)
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Available Positions / Schedules
We are hiring for multiple roles and shifts:
- Awake Overnight (Weekday & Weekend)
- (Scheduled off-times may vary based on transportation schedules, appointments, and weather)
- House Counselors (Weekday & Weekend)
(Must have valid license and vehicle at all times)
- House Managers (Weekday & Weekend)
(Must have valid license and vehicle at all times)Schedules vary by home
