Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Directional Driller to join our construction and utility installation team in North Carolina . Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery to facilitate directional drilling activities.
- Manage horizontal drilling operations with precision to install underground utilities efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate with project managers to plan drilling paths and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with site preparation, including excavation, grading, and material handling using various construction vehicles like loaders and dozers.
- Monitor drilling operations for safety hazards or equipment malfunctions and address issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of drilling progress, equipment usage, and safety inspections.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, construction site procedures, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with horizontal directional drilling techniques is highly preferred.
- Construction site experience with an understanding of underground utility installation or paving projects is advantageous.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in operating excavators or similar machinery is desirable.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment brands or similar heavy equipment brands is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
