- Build and refine pricing models that support scenario planning, commercial tradeoff analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Use competitive intelligence, customer context, and value-based pricing principles to shape pricing positions that balance margin and win probability.
- Partner across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance to align pricing strategy with customer requirements and business objectives.
Cost Modeling & Financial Analysis
- Work with Sales and Engineering to define scope and model the price, cost, and commercial implications of proposed solutions.
- Validate scope, bills of material, and key assumptions with internal stakeholders to improve model accuracy and proposal quality.
- Support bid and approval decisions with clear financial models, documented assumptions, and decision-ready analysis.
Continuous Improvement & Business Impact
- Develop pricing approaches for component sets and related offerings using market insight, customer context, and competitive benchmarks.
- Develop price adjustment frameworks for long-term agreements that protect margin and support sustainable commercial performance.
- Lead post-proposal analysis to strengthen revenue planning, capture lessons learned, and improve future pricing accuracy.
- Drive process improvements that increase pricing effectiveness, speed, consistency, and decision quality across the function.
- Maintain and enhance proposal data and pricing tools to support metrics, insights, and stronger future opportunity development.
Education / Training
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant experience in pricing, finance, commercial analysis, proposals, or a related field; strong potential and growth mindset are also valued.
- Strong commercial judgment and understanding of capital equipment sales cycles, customer requirements, and pricing tradeoffs.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and curiosity in evaluating pricing scenarios and commercial alternatives.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and stakeholder inputs in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Experience with pricing strategy, financial modeling, and market or customer dynamics that influence commercial decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial tools used to support pricing, profitability, and investment analysis.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and influence skills across cross-functional teams and decision-makers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools that support pricing analysis, forecasting, and proposal development is a plus.
