Key Job Elements • Operates assigned machinery, monitors and optimizes for efficiency, does basic maintenance to machines and performs quality checks; • Performs all assigned machine shop operations; • Set up and operates machines; • Observes machine operations, detects work piece defects and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance; • Operates machinery and equipment according to work instructions; • Troubleshoot issues and perform routine and minor maintenance. Submit work orders for the maintenance requirements; • Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions; • Follows reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and reports problems to supervisor; • Cleans machinery and maintains a clean work area; • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management; • Follows safety protocols at all times; • Assists in other work areas as needed and directed by the department supervisor. Education / Training • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications and Experience • 1+ years of experience in machine operation; • Experience with the following: o Coping Machine o Hydraulic Shear o Horizontal Saw o Band Saw o Cold Saw o Drills and basic tools • Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in reading a tape measure; • Read and interpret blueprints; • Mechanical and technical aptitude and capacity.
