Progress Physical Therapy is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care for individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, sports injuries, work-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, post-surgical conditions, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation services while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with all clinic policies and state regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, functional training, gait training, balance activities, and neuromuscular re-education.
- Apply physical agents and modalities as appropriate, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat, cold, and traction (within scope of practice).
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and functional activities.
- Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and clinic policies.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, case managers, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service and help create a welcoming environment for patients.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to assist patients with transfers and mobility.
- Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
