Job Overview
**CAUTION - THIS POSITION IS FOR A COMMERCIAL DIVER, NOT DRIVER**
We are a small, local company seeking a skilled & dedicated Diver/Tender to join our team. We are interested in both recent dive school graduates and experienced divers. This job provides a great opportunity for new divers looking to advance in the profession. We are looking for candidates local to Chester County, PA & surrounding areas, as that is where the majority of our work takes us.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to the job & can be a reliable member of our team. Our work is generally for state agencies, steel mills, paper mills, and heavy highway contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct underwater inspections of structures such as bridges, dams, and pipelines to assess condition and integrity
- Perform maintenance and repairs on underwater equipment and structures as required
- Assist with underwater construction projects
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during all diving operations
- Maintain/inspect diving equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition before each dive
- Document dive activities, findings, and any issues encountered during operations
- Collaborate with team members to plan dives effectively and address any challenges that arise
SKILLS:
- Certified commercial diver (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong knowledge of diving safety practices and emergency procedures
- Proficiency in operating diving equipment such as underwater cameras and other specialized tools.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in challenging environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges encountered during dives
- Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members
