Manufacturing – Tariff Claims Specialist (EDS Practice) role.
EDS-focused tariff claims role, which requires hands-on execution in manufacturing-linked tariff claim processing, forging/casting cost validation, BOM-level reconciliation, and sustained involvement in tariff mitigation workflows.
The role requires hands on expertise in tariff claim execution, customs documentation (7501, CI), HTS classifications, and Power BI driven reporting, which are not clearly demonstrated. The candidate is also significantly over experienced for the role.
Tariff & Cost Recovery Execution will support tariff mitigation and cost recovery activities for OEM programs by combining mechanical engineering knowledge (forging, casting, BOMs, part costing) with commercial, compliance, and data driven execution.
The role requires close coordination with cross functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Compliance, Finance) and OEM facing counterparts to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tariff claim submissions aligned with customer commercial expectations and Dana’s financial performance metrics.
Engineering & Cost Support
Apply mechanical engineering knowledge in forging and casting processes to support part cost understanding, BOM accuracy, and material content validation.
Review and validate part level data, including piece price, material composition, and manufacturing process relevance for tariff and cost recovery calculations.
Support BOM accuracy initiatives by identifying engineering data gaps, inconsistencies, or incorrect material/process assumptions and working with design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to resolve them.
Tariff & Claim Execution
Support execution of monthly tariff mitigation and cost recovery activities, including RVC% identification, reconciliation of import data, and validation of broker provided 7501 and Commercial Invoice documentation.
Populate and maintain client specific claim templates to calculate recoverable tariffs based on validated engineering data, commercial invoice pricing, and applicable tariff percentages.
Maintain and manage master data files used for quarterly OEM tariff submissions by integrating engineering inputs, broker documentation, Power BI outputs, and internal cost data.
Cross Functional & Compliance Coordination
Coordinate with Compliance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and external customs brokers to obtain required import documentation and ensure engineering data aligns with trade compliance requirements.
Support process improvements that improve data traceability, audit readiness, and reduction of manual effort across tariff claim workflows.
Provide clear updates on claim status, exceptions, engineering driven discrepancies, Tier 2 impacts, and quarterly submission readiness.
