What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technician / PRN / Day Shift position at Proforma Health?
Seeking a registered Ultrasound Technologist proficient in diagnostic imaging under indirect supervision of a Radiologist. Responsibilities include performing and evaluating ultrasound exams, assisting with invasive US biopsies, and maintaining accurate documentation and communication of findings. Operates imaging equipment, manages supplies, and ensures a safe, organized exam room. Provides patient education to alleviate anxiety and maintains all necessary certifications, including BLS. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, adheres to safety protocols, and maintains equipment functionality. Assists in other imaging areas as needed and ensures high-level disinfection of probes. Requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree, ARDMS registration with physics, vascular, and abdominal credentials preferred, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Physical demands include lifting over 20 pounds, standing for extended periods, and manual dexterity. Maintains professionalism and respects patient dignity in a healthcare environment.
