Role: The Patient Account Registrar interviews patients or their representatives to collect demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Responsibilities: Secures insurance details, verifies eligibility, benefits, and authorizations, and collaborates with the Admitting department including reception and PBX functions. Operates computer systems for data entry and retrieval. Communicates effectively across diverse age groups, utilizing age-specific techniques. Maintains proficiency in medical terminology and may handle special projects with assigned deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills: Previous hospital admissions experience preferred; familiarity with medical terminology advantageous. Requires effective written and verbal communication, multi-tasking, prioritization, analytical thinking, and customer service skills. High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, education, and credentials.
