Reporter, US News & Crime Requirements:

• 3 years of professional newsroom experience.
• National US news reporting experience, digital-first background preferred.
• Proven experience covering crime, courts, legal affairs, and investigations.
• Strong command of AP style, SEO, and headline writing.
• Proficiency with PACER, LexisNexis, FOIA requests, CMS/WordPress, and digital analytics.

Reporter, US News & Crime Responsibilities:

• Produce original, enterprise, and investigative reporting for a national audience.
• Respond quickly and accurately to breaking US news under tight deadlines.
• Develop stories featuring original video, interviews, photos, and graphics.
• Maintain and leverage a strong network of criminal, legal, and law enforcement sources.
• Pitch and execute both short-term breaking coverage and long-term reporting projects.
