Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns to accurately document service needs
- Prepare detailed repair orders using estimating software, including mechanical diagnostics, transmission issues, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, wheel alignments, and other automotive repairs
- Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure accurate diagnosis and timely repairs
- Provide clear explanations of recommended services and estimates to customers while highlighting opportunities for upselling additional maintenance or repair services
- Manage client communication throughout the service process, keeping customers informed of progress and additional recommendations
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently at the point of sale
- Maintain thorough records of all service activities, estimates, work orders, and client interactions to ensure transparency and accountability
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignment, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts, air brakes, and other automotive systems
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of varying automotive knowledge levels
- Experience in auto estimating and sales techniques
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with auto service processes enhances success in this role
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure
