Join our team as a Physical Therapy Aide responsible for carrying out exercise programs at various Assisted Living Facilities and/or Outpatient Therapy Clinics. Physical Therapy Aide tasks are under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
The ideal candidate is willing to travel to multiple locations throughout the Peoria/Pekin-area, and has an exercise background. This is a great opportunity for experienced fitness instructors or Health Science/PT/OT/PTA/COTA students interested in working with geriatric clients. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Position Purpose
This position is responsible for carrying out Beyond Therapy exercise programs and outpatient therapy aide tasks under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Duties include but are not limited to supervision and assistance with exercise.
Qualifications
- Diploma from high school or GED equivalent.
- Successful completion of on-the-job therapy aide training and competency program.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Must be CPR certified or eligible for CPR certification.
Essential Job Functions
- Safely supervises and directs clients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Apprises self of any special client precautions or needs before working with each client. Requests additional help if needed.
- Uses proper techniques when assisting each client on/off exercise equipment.
- Assists therapists with patient care tasks.
- Assists therapists as directed in transferring patients from one surface to another.
- Assists therapists as directed in evaluation procedures.
- Assists therapists as directed in treatments.
- Gathers equipment for the therapists.
- Assists therapists in the aquatic area with patient transfers, positioning, wound care, and wound dressing.
