We're hiring our first-ever People Operations Specialist, and whoever takes this seat won't be a cog in some HR machine. You'll be the machine. You'll build it, run it, and own it.

What you'll own
- Multi-state payroll through Rippling — sharp, on time, buttoned-up
- Certified/prevailing-wage payroll (WH-347) for our public projects — a small slice of the work, handled cleanly with Rippling and a supporting tool
- Full-cycle recruiting and onboarding that makes people glad they said yes
- Benefits (with our broker), PTO, and leave — handled
- The go-to seat employees trust when they've got a question or a problem
- Handbook, policies, records, and multi-state compliance — locked down
- The processes that let us scale — you're writing the playbook, not inheriting one
What you bring
- 3 years in HR / People Operations, ideally as a do-everything generalist
- Real payroll chops (multi-state a big plus)
- A tech-forward, systems-loving brain — you like tools like Rippling, Gusto, Paylocity, or ADP, and you get a little thrill from automating manual work
- A working command of employment law and compliance
- Sharp judgment, tight discretion, and a genuine love of helping people
- Builder energy — you want to create, not just keep the lights on
Bonus points: SHRM-CP or PHR · construction or field-workforce experience · certified payroll software (LCPtracker, Points North).
