The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals. This role focuses on expanding market presence, building strong customer relationships, and developing tailored solutions to meet customer needs. The Business Development Specialist, with the support of the Sales Engineer(s) will collaborate with the Business Unit teams to ensure successful proposal delivery and capture of profitable new business.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Research and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit teams to prepare proposals, quotations, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit teams to develop and execute strategic new business growth plans.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote products and services.
  • Leads the business development team to optimize new business capture, employee engagement and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline updates, and customer interactions.
  • Provide regular reports and forecasts to senior leadership on new business growth and related metrics.
  • Support marketing initiatives, track and respond to customer perception.
  • Support and foster the growth and professional development of all direct reports and team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Experience: 4 or more years of experience in business development, sales, or engineering management, preferable in a technical or manufacturing environment within the Aerospace/ Defense or general manufacturing industry.

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
