Audiology Technician

Location: Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor, WA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0700–1530 (8-hour shifts, excluding a 30-min unpaid lunch)

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

  • Certification: Current Tri-Service Hearing Technician certification (or completion within 4 months of hire); Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • Experience: Preferred but not required experience with audiometric testing, hearing protection fitting, patient scheduling, hearing safety briefings, and the Defense Occupational and Environmental Readiness System–Hearing Conservation (DOEHRS-HC).


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct hearing tests (audiometry, OAE, otoscopy, earmold impressions, fit testing) using DOEHRS-HC and boothless systems.

  • Schedule and manage patients; maintain accurate hearing readiness and conservation records.

  • Fit and issue hearing protection devices; conduct hearing safety briefings and unit-level training.

  • Coordinate hearing conservation activities and inspections with Occupational Health and unit programs.

  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and data backup of testing equipment.

  • Support performance improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives.

  • Document care in electronic medical systems (e.g., CHCS, AHLTA, MHS GENESIS).

  • Participate in required training, peer reviews, and continuing education.

  • Assist with Family Advocacy Program duties as directed.


Training

  • Complete Command and Information Systems Orientation (CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, MHS GENESIS).

  • Attend Tri-Service Hearing Technician Certification training as required (travel reimbursable per Joint Travel Regulations).



Typical shifts will be Monday through Friday and fall between the hours of 0630-1730.
Workdays: Monday–Friday
Coverage window: 06:30–17:30
Shift length: 8.5 hours total
Unpaid meal break: 0.5 hour
Paid hours per shift: 8.0 hours

Salary : $24 - $28
