Role Description
This is an on-call role for an Interpreter, located in Salem and surrounding areas in OR, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Interpreter will be responsible for accurately translating spoken or signed language in various settings. Responsibilities include interpreting conversations in person or virtually, maintaining confidentiality, and providing culturally appropriate translations. The Interpreter will ensure clear and effective communication between parties.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English and one or more languages such as Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Marshallese, or American Sign Language
- Experience in Medical, Legal, Financial, Government, Education, or Mental Health fields
- Excellent listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of cultural nuances and ability to convey them accurately
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Relevant certification or accreditation in interpreting is beneficial
- Compliance with HIPAA standards and other regulatory requirements
