Business Development & Sales
- Prospect, identify, and develop new commercial insurance clients through referrals, networking, outreach campaigns, and community engagement.
- Conduct needs assessments to evaluate client risks and recommend appropriate insurance products (e.g., property, liability, workers' compensation, professional liability, cyber, commercial auto).
- Prepare and present customized proposals that align with client needs and industry best practices.
- Meet or exceed established sales goals, activity targets, and retention benchmarks.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned commercial accounts, ensuring consistent communication and high service standards.
- Maintain long-term relationships by regularly reviewing coverage needs and identifying opportunities to expand or adjust policies.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, policy changes, certificates of insurance, renewals, and service issues.
- Collaborate with account managers, underwriters, and carrier partners to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
Technical & Administrative
- Gather underwriting information from clients and ensure accuracy in applications and submissions.
- Stay informed on industry trends, carrier appetite, market conditions, and regulatory developments.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, client records, and pipeline tracking within the agency management system
- Support retention strategies by preparing renewal reviews and coverage recommendations.
Qualifications Required
- 2–5 years of experience in commercial insurance sales, account management, or a related role.
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and risk management principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain trusted client relationships.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Preferred
- Familiarity with agency management systems
- Proven track record of meeting sales goals in a competitive market.
