About the Opportunity
Professional Home Care Services, Inc. (PHCS) is currently seeking a dependable and compassionate Personal Care Worker (PCW) to join our family-oriented team. As a licensed home health agency with over 35 years of experience, we pride ourselves on matching the right caregiver to the right client.
For this specific role, you will be providing dedicated 1-on-1 morning support to a male client living with incomplete C5-C7 quadriplegia and limited hand dexterity. We are looking for a reliable professional who excels at household management, personal care, and assisting with daily tasks that require fine motor skills.
The Schedule
- Core Shift: Monday through Friday, 3 hours and 15 minutes each morning.
- Flexibility: We offer flexible morning start times! This is a perfect, consistent schedule for parents dropping kids off at school, individuals looking to supplement their income, or students with afternoon classes.
- Growth: There is a strong possibility to pick up additional clients and hours later in the day if desired.
Primary Responsibilities
Under the supervision of an RN Case Manager, you will provide hands-on care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) tailored to this client’s specific needs:
- Personal Care: Provide hands-on, respectful assistance with morning bathing, dressing, and grooming routines.
- Fine Motor Assistance: Assist the client with tasks that are difficult due to limited hand mobility and dexterity.
- Home Management: Perform general home cleaning and light housekeeping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and tidy living environment.
- Errands & Shopping: Handle grocery shopping and run general errands for the client as needed.
- Communication: Report any changes in the client’s condition to the RN Case Manager and accurately document visits using our Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Personal Care Worker (PCW) or Caregiver in a home health care setting is required.
- Transportation: Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle to travel to the client’s home and run necessary errands/grocery shopping.
- Reliability: Must be on time, reliable, and able to maintain a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
- Health Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for clients with spinal cord injuries, quadriplegia, or limited mobility.
- A strong background in household management and organization.
