HVAC Technician (L2 – 1st & 2nd Shift)
Location: Denver, CO
Pay: $35/hr (based on experience)
Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
(Some overtime, no mandatory on-call)
Truck, tools, and phone provided
Overview:
We are hiring skilled HVAC Technicians to join our Facilities team, supporting a safe and comfortable learning environment for students and staff across the district. Technicians perform licensed maintenance, service, and repair work on a wide variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems including chillers, cooling towers, rooftop DX units, and building controls.
What You’ll Do:
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems in schools
- Diagnose and replace failed components, and perform preventive maintenance
- Calibrate and maintain pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls
- Install, repair, and fabricate HVAC system components and fittings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes
- Coordinate with Facility Managers and other trade staff as needed
- Operate a district-provided truck, tools, and service ticket system
- Support snow removal and emergency response efforts as required
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4–5 years of HVAC service experience (commercial, industrial, or residential)
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
(misdemeanors older than 4 years do not disqualify applicants) - City of Denver HVAC license or certification preferred
- Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
- Must live and work from a permanent Colorado address
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position (with or without accommodations)
- Background check required to work in schools
