Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire alarm system design, with experience in drafting, CAD, and construction related to fire alarm systems. The Fire Alarm Designer will be responsible for designing a code compliant system using AutoCAD based on multiple jurisdictions. Duties
- Develop detailed system designs for fire alarm systems using CAD.
- Conduct system analysis and review construction drawings to ensure compliance with IBC/IFC and NFPA.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate fire engineering solutions into construction plans.
- Prepare technical documentation including schematics, layouts, and system specifications.
- Perform site surveys from time to time to take measurements of buildings to be able to draw them into CAD.
- Ensure all designs code and local jurisdiction criteria.
Experience
- Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on fire protection systems or related fields.
- Proficiency in CAD drafting tools including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Creo is essential.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, schematics development, system design, electrical wiring, layout design, PCB design, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Experience working on construction projects involving electrical systems for fire safety is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with software such as Bluebeam and NavisWorks for project coordination is preferred.
- Background in fire alarm system wiring installation or system integration within construction environments is advantageous.
- Ideal candidate will have worked on designs for Firelite, Potter, Kidde, EST, Notifier, Siemens, and Gamewell/FCI

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
