We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on industrial and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
- Conduct industrial cleaning of equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain floors through buffing, waxing, and polishing to uphold cleanliness and appearance.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized, reporting any shortages to management.
- Collaborate with team members to complete deep cleaning projects as assigned.
- Provide porter services by transporting materials or equipment as required throughout the facility.
- Respond promptly to any urgent cleaning requests or spills to maintain safety standards.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while performing custodial duties.
Skills
- Proven experience in industrial or commercial cleaning environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of custodial practices, including floor care techniques and equipment usage.
- Ability to maintain a clean work environment while following established procedures.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of residential painting techniques is an advantage but not required.
