What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Professional Arts Specialty Pharmacy?
Our goal is to solve patients’ complex prescription needs in order to improve their quality of life. Our Shipping Department Clerks are in a unique position to have a high impact on patients through the final fulfillment and shipping process. They help us to go above and beyond to ensure that customers receive the correct prescription in a timely manner, while experiencing superior customer service. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure prescriptions given to patients are correct using name/address to confirm
- Process patient credit card payments using the POS system with attention to detail and/or handle money properly and record transactions accurately
- Answer telephones in a timely manner, direct calls to appropriate personnel and escalate clinical questions to a pharmacist when required.
- Accurately box medications for shipment to ensure stability, durability and usability by selecting packaging products that are validated to maintain the appropriate temperature range and by following the outline pack out steps. Always follow cold chain validated pack-out procedures for refrigerated products.
- Select delivery/courier vendor and method (Next Day, Next Day Saturday, Signature Required, UPR, etc.) according to Shipping Policy and Procedure.
- Review comments for specific delivery instructions and compare delivery and mailing address to ensure accuracy.
- Gather and process new customer information accurately
- Call customers who have not picked up their filled prescriptions
- Package, weigh, label, and send mail out for delivery
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Handling patient information with accuracy and confidentiality
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to stand for full shift
