Preflight/Large Format Print Technician (fremont / union city / newark) ProExhibits compensation: $34-$36 employment type: full-time job title: Preflight/Large Format Print Technician Preflight/Large Format Print Technician We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Preflight/Large Format Print Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of files during the preflight stage, as well as operating and maintaining large format printing equipment. Your expertise in prepress procedures, strong technical expertise, and meticulous attention to detail will be essential in delivering high-quality large format print materials to our clients. Responsibilities: Preflight File Analysis: • Conduct comprehensive preflight checks on digital files received from clients or internal departments to identify any potential issues or errors. • Verify technical specifications of files, including color modes, resolution, image and text quality, bleed, trim, and safety margins. • Collaborate closely with project managers to address any preflight concerns, providing feedback and recommendations for file optimization. • Make necessary adjustments to files, such as color correction, resizing, font conversions, and image enhancements, ensuring adherence to print standards and client requirements. Large Format Printing: • Operate and maintain large format printing equipment, such as wide-format flatbed printers, plotters, and laminators. • Set up and calibrate printers, adjusting color profiles, ink densities, and registration for optimal print quality. • Monitor print runs, conducting quality control checks on printed materials to ensure consistency, color accuracy, and overall print integrity. • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues, collaborating with maintenance technicians for more complex repairs. Requirements: • Solid knowledge of preflight procedures, prepress workflows, and large format print production processes. • Proficiency in industry-standard preflight software and tools, such as Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, Onyx Postershop or similar applications. • Familiarity with various file formats, including PDF, EPS, AI, and TIFF, and the ability to troubleshoot and correct issues related to them. • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential errors or inconsistencies in files and printed materials. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients, conveying preflight concerns and providing clear feedback and instructions. • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving technologies and changing project requirements. • Commitment to delivering high-quality work while ensuring customer satisfaction. • 3axis CNC operating experience a plus.
