Proenza Schouler is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Planning Analyst to manage data, reporting, and automation across the business while owning day-to-day planning for the off-price channel and supporting the wholesale team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate forecasts, maintaining reporting infrastructure, and leveraging AI tools to drive efficiency and insight. The ideal candidate is retail-literate with a solid foundation in retail math, comfortable working across cross-functional teams, and eager to build scalable processes that contribute to stronger business results.



Responsibilities


  • Maintain and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal selling reports covering sales, inventory, margin, and sell-through performance across all channels.
  • Pull, monitor, and communicate current shipping status versus forecast to all cross-functional partners, calling out risks and opportunities to management.
  • Pull all necessary data to reforecast monthly sales and RTVs on a weekly basis, delivering an accurate sales forecast to the Finance team.
  • Support the buildout and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting and planning workflows using AI and other tools, improving speed and accuracy.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of AI-powered solutions for demand planning, data visualization, and process efficiency.
  • Act as a resource for data literacy across the team, helping cross-functional partners understand and use key metrics and reporting tools.
  • Partner with Sales and Merchandising to support product flow, pricing decisions, and exit strategies for excess and aged inventory.
  • Track and report on margin dilution across channels, identifying key drivers and partnering with cross-functional teams to develop action plans that protect profitability.
  • Own off-price sales across marketplaces and off-price wholesale partners, and plan and execute online and physical sample sales to maximize recovery on excess inventory.
  • Create all pre-market analyses to support the sales team’s assortment and projection process.
  • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by account and classification, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive strategy.
  • Review account profitability reports, summarize key takeaways, and prepare suggested action plans to be reviewed with accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Contribute to strategic recommendations by preparing data-driven analyses that connect planning insights to revenue, margin, and inventory productivity.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support planning initiatives and milestone meetings.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a data-driven analytical role within a retail or wholesale environment.
  • Strong understanding of retail math metrics: sell-through, GMROI, weeks of supply, OTB, margin analysis, comp sales, and turn.
  • Experience with the off-price channel is highly preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, including the ability to synthesize large datasets and build automated reporting.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in AI and automation tools for data analysis and workflow optimization.
  • Mathematical proficiency with strong business and financial acumen.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate across all levels of management.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and ability to coordinate with many cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to flex across shifting priorities with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other data querying/scripting languages is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems is a plus.






The targeted base salary range for this role is $70,000-$80,000. Actual salary offered may be outside of this range based on factors such as, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for company health benefit programs and additional benefits, including participation in an annual performance-based incentive program, a seasonal clothing allowance, and a 401k match program.
