The Fabrication Inspector is responsible for inspecting fabricated parts, assemblies, and weldments to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards. This role supports production by identifying nonconformances early, promoting quality workmanship, and ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are met.

Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated components and assemblies.
- Verify compliance to:
- Engineering drawings and work instructions
- Welding procedures (WPS)
- Applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, customer specs)
- Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tape measures, etc.).
- Perform visual weld inspections and identify defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, and incomplete fusion.
- Review material certifications, heat numbers, and traceability requirements.
- Document inspection results and complete inspection reports, travelers, and quality records.
- Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and support root cause and corrective action activities.
- Communicate inspection findings with fabrication, welding, and engineering teams.
- Support internal and external audits (ISO, ASME, customer audits).
- Verify calibration status of inspection equipment.
- Maintain a safe and organized inspection area and follow all safety policies.
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in related discipline in the industrial workplace.
- CWI required or working towards certification.
- Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
- Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) credentials or working towards certification.
- Read and Interpret F&ID, P&ID, WPS drawings, standards and specifications.
- Ability to perform routine Inspection and Test Plan Surveillance tasks with no supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 quality system.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
