Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager leads all daily maintenance and repair functions for facilities, equipment, and production machinery. This role ensures high equipment reliability, reduces unplanned downtime, and drives a culture of safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and direct the maintenance team in performing cleaning, lubrication, inspections, service, repairs, and parts replacement.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to optimize workforce utilization and ensure machinery uptime.
- Coordinate shift handoffs and assign work priorities.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to maintain and enhance the Safety Programs based on OSHA regulations.
- Ensure efficient operation of machinery by overseeing PM tasks on motors, engines, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Diagnose equipment issues through inspection and testing.
- Measure components using precision tools to determine repair needs.
- Minimize downtime by communicating PM techniques and safety practices.
- Maintain equipment, tool, and spare parts inventories.
- Review technical publications to stay updated.
- Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and findings.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards including Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, and PPE.
- Support continuous improvement with new ideas and process enhancements.
- Perform hands-on equipment work when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations is critical.
- Electrical experience preferred although not mandatory.
- 3 years as a Maintenance Department Manager in a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical mechanical knowledge
- Experience with power tools, machinery, chains, and sprockets
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders
- Able to operate forklifts and aerial lifts
- English reading/writing/communication competency
- Basic Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Leadership and communication strengths
- Proven productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Work Environment
Manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to temperature extremes, dust, and noise.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
