Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts, to efficiently load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, and lift trucks to load and unload shipments.
- Manage inventory through barcode scanning and warehouse management systems to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Perform order picking and order fulfillment tasks using manual handling techniques and equipment like pallet jacks and Hi-Lo forklifts.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal performance while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Follow warehouse safety protocols including manual handling procedures, heavy lifting techniques, and forklift safety standards in production environments.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials efficiently for timely dispatch and delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts (including lift trucks and Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, and clamp trucks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, inventory management practices, and materials handling techniques.
- Experience in warehouse operations within a distribution or manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments including OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, or weight assessments.
- Previous supervisory experience or familiarity with warehouse supervision is a plus but not required.
