Bench technicians are responsible for providing different services, depending on their area of expertise, and diagnosing problems and making repairs
- Identify electronic/mechanical problems by use of diagnostic equipment
- Test and verify sub-assemblies and major system components
- Test, repair and maintain PRG equipment using set company procedures and guidelines.
- Recalibrate and verify factory manufacturing specifications for pertinent equipment
- Reviews part stock levels with Technical services manager
- Intermediate understanding of control software and operation
- Maintains and enters all factory acceptance testing and QC documentation
- Maintains accurate parts lists for all related equipment
- Ensures maintenance policies and procedures are met and related paperwork is in order
- Ensures all equipment QC deadlines are met
- Leads in internal training with entry level personnel
- Cross-trains to assist in different departments as required
- Leads by example and encourages subordinates and peers to perform work in a safe manner, including the use of proper PPE, adherence to safety standards and policies, and remain accident free.
- Keeps work area clean and organized
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, including weekends and holidays, when needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
- Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams
- Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
- Working knowledge of equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Install new products, and test them to ensure they are working correctly
- Educating coworkers on how to use and maintain their device
- Perform maintenance on equipment
- Diagnose problems and develop solutions to repair them
- Order parts needed for repairs as needed
- Fill out detailed reports and keep records on services that have been performed
