Daily activities include troubleshooting mechanical issues, machining replacement components, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with equipment changeovers to minimize downtime. Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manual machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses) and safely use hand and power tools for fabrication and repair.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing production machinery, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems commonly used in die casting or similar manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics, and in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Strong preventive maintenance skills, including routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and documentation to support equipment reliability and uptime.
- Solid understanding of shop math and machining principles, with attention to detail, accuracy, and quality standards in a fast-paced production setting.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to lockout/tagout procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and safe material handling practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel and respond to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in die casting, metalworking, or heavy manufacturing is preferred; vocational or technical training in machining, industrial maintenance, or a related field is beneficial.
