PSC is seeking an experienced engineer who’s equally comfortable supporting certifications from our office as they are answering the call to compliance wherever it may lead. Field evaluations are a key part of this role. The ideal candidate will be nimble in the field, ensuring products designed for global markets are set up for success. This opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving, and a healthy dose of unpredictability. What You’ll Do:
• Manage product safety & certifications projects across multiple categories
• Coordinate with UL, Intertek, CSA, Nemko, TUVR and other certification bodies
• Develop test plans, evaluate designs, and perform compliance investigations
• Prepare construction, test, and field evaluation reports
• Conduct off-site Field Evaluations (FEs) for unlisted/modified equipment, which require travel to customer facilities
• Communicate findings to customers
- Be comfortable talking with AHJs and getting their input
• Perform hands-on testing using multimeters, electric strength testers, leakage current meters, data acquisition systems, temperature measurement tools, and other compliance testing instruments
• Support evaluations across multiple product categories for a wide range of electrical and electromechanical equipment
• Engage with new and innovative products before they reach the market, applying both mechanical and electrical safety tests
• Interpret and apply written safety standards to ensure products meet all required performance, construction, and compliance criteria
What You Bring:
• 5–10 years experience in product safety, certifications, and/or field evaluations
• Strong understanding of UL/CSA/IEC standards and NEC/NFPA codes
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Solid project management and customer communication skills
• Ability to travel for off-site field work as needed
• Strong hands-on testing competency with common lab instruments
