Mechanical Test Technician I

• Position summary:** This position is responsible for conducting limited mechanical testing techniques per protocol and customer specifications. Position also provides general support to the Mechanical Testing department.
  
  

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Conduct basic and common testing techniques with proficiency, and within appropriate protocol for machine and customer specifications.
• Accurately determine test results, which can include pass/fail or material composition for research purposes.
• Utilize a variety of testing and analysis software.
• Prepare reports with test results by completing appropriate template.
• Perform failure testing on occasion as requested by customers.
• Perform ongoing general machine maintenance, and alert management of any machine repair needs that cannot be performed internally.
• Perform pre- and post-test measurements on specimens.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Incumbent must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Incumbent will be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and office machinery as needed.
• Incumbent may frequently be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak English.
• Incumbent must be able to use tools including microscopes, saws, test frames, and basic hand tools.
• Position requires incumbent to wear personal protective equipment including gloves and safety glasses. Steel-toed boots are preferred.
  
  

Work Days And Shifts

• First Shift: 7am to 3pm.
• Alternative Shift: 10am to 6pm
• Incumbent may need to work outside core operating hours as requested.
