  • You’re a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher seeking a currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university: 
  • Computer Science,Data Science,Electrical and Computer Engineering,Computer Information Systems,Information Technology
  • This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field. 
  • Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027. 
  • In addition to role-specific projects, you’ll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship, and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

What you can expect in this role  

 

As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

 

Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

 

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

 

Internship responsibilities may include:

  • The team’s main responsibility is to support Charter’s Private Wireless/Networks efforts: (1) support respective business units on PW customer explorations including solution design, use-case integration, network deployment, (2) develop and test an PW in-house solution proposal including a Single Pane Of Glass portal to manage and monitor all relevant solution components. Other team responsibilities are: research oriented lab and field evaluations around Non-Terrestrial Networks, 6G, AI/ML in a private network environment, support HMNO RAN development efforts as needed.
  • Support the development of (Graphical) User Interfaces for Private Wireless Use-Cases and Single Pane Of Glass Portals based on the solution components API’s. Explore, design, develop and integrate customer specific use-cases which require adhoc coding development, including on cellular device platforms like Android cellular phones, utilizing AI and ML. Develop tools for automation of testing Radio and Core Access Network solutions.

Required qualifications

  • Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coding: Python, C, Java, Jason. UX/UI design experience, application development (including Android) experience, Telecom: theoretical knowledge (LTE, 5G, 6G) preferred but not mandatory,

The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
