We are seeking a junior to mid-level .NET Developer to support a federal agency in modernizing legacy applications and transitioning systems into the Azure cloud. This fully remote role offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in cloud development and work on impactful, large-scale projects. Ideal for candidates eager to grow their skills in a collaborative Agile environment, this is a long-term engagement with approximately three years remaining on the project.
While the position is remote, occasional in-person visits may be required for fingerprinting or equipment logistics in Chicago, Washington D.C., New York, or Kansas City. Candidates must be available to work Eastern Time hours.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain .NET Core applications within a cloud-focused architecture
- Collaborate with team members using Git repositories and Agile development methodologies
- Ensure solutions meet federal security and compliance standards
- Contribute to operations and maintenance (O&M) support for existing systems
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience (or 1-2 years with a Master’s degree)
- Strong C#/.NET development skills, with the ability to discuss design patterns and object-oriented principles like inheritance
- Foundational understanding of software engineering principles
- Experience with SQL and light database development
- Azure experience is a plus but not required—ideal for candidates looking to gain exposure
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
