Salary Information: $113K - 279K

Job Description:
We are looking for an Application Engineer to join our team supporting our customer. In this role, the engineer will design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manage their implementation; manage software development and support using formal specifications,
data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools; estimate software development costs and schedule; review existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operating time and improving current techniques.
As an Engineer in this role, you will help monitor the heath and status of the analytic environment to perform security patching and updates, maintain up to date documentation, automate routine tasks through scripting., and evaluate and recommend solutions based on open source or commercial options.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8 years experience in system administration / software engineering
• Troubleshooting experience (VM & application logs & tracking down sources/causes of VM or application issues) Strong Linux skills (RHEL 8/9)
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher for containerized workloads
• Familiarity with Apache NiFi or similar data integration tools
• Working knowledge of Ansible for automation and configuration management
• Hands-on experience managing VMs in OpenStack, VMware, or AWS
• Ability to troubleshoot SSH, performance, and network-related issues in Linux environments
• Experience applying security hardening (STIG, STE/STN) and maintaining compliance documentation (SSP)
• Experience with network flow monitoring

Preferred Qualifications:

• RedHat certification
• Knowledge of Python
• Experience with MongoDB, Kubernetes (Docker)
• Familiar with Riverbed Technology

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (w/o degree additional 4 yrs experience required; with Masters Degree 2 yrs less experience required
