Key Responsibilities
Load Coordination & Tracking
- Assist in booking and scheduling freight shipments
- Track loads from pickup to delivery and provide real-time updates
- Communicate with carriers to ensure on-time performance
Carrier Management
- Source and vet carriers (verify insurance, authority, and safety ratings)
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers
- Negotiate rates when needed under broker guidance
Customer Support
- Provide shipment updates to customers
- Assist in handling service issues or delays
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all communications
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and send rate confirmations
- Ensure all paperwork (BOLs, PODs, invoices) is completed and filed properly
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company standards
Administrative Support
- Enter load details into TMS (Transportation Management System)
- Update spreadsheets, reports, and internal systems
- Assist brokers with daily operational tasks
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, email, CRM/TMS systems)
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
- Previous experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or customer service
- Familiarity with load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop)
- Understanding of freight terminology and shipping processes
