What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Billing Specialist position at Prodegi Corporate Benefit Services?
Why Join Prodegi?
At Prodegi, we’ve been helping businesses design and administer smart, cost-effective self-funded employee benefit plans since 1985. We’re a collaborative, high-energy team that takes pride in delivering exceptional service to our clients while creating a supportive environment where people can grow their skills and enjoy their work.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Client Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our clients’ benefit plans running smoothly by handling monthly billing, reconciliations, and client communications. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and building positive relationships with clients, this is a great opportunity to use your accounting skills in the rewarding world of employee benefits.
We offer a fun, team-oriented culture where your contributions are valued, and you’ll have room to learn and advance.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly billing statements to employer clients and properly apply payments to fund accounts.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries via phone, email, and online portals.
- Maintain enrollment data, investigate discrepancies, and work collaboratively with clients to resolve billing and membership issues.
- Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliation tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Generate and distribute detailed billing reports and communications to keep clients informed.
- Conduct research to resolve issues efficiently while meeting service level metrics and performance goals.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience in a bookkeeping, accounting, or billing role (required).
- Strong intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills (required) — comfort with formulas, tables, and data analysis is a big plus.
- Experience with enrollment platforms or benefits administration is helpful but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset — you’ll interact regularly with clients and internal team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling a high volume of emails and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Analytical thinker who enjoys solving problems and learning new things.
- A positive, team-player attitude with a desire to grow your career in benefits administration.
- Nice-to-have: An accounting-related degree or certification, or prior experience in insurance/benefits billing.
We encourage applications from candidates who are eager to learn — even if you don’t meet every single requirement, if you’re passionate about accuracy, client service, and numbers, we want to hear from you!
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, life insurance.)
- Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth
- Retirement plan, PTO, flexible hours, professional work environment
If you’re a reliable, detail-driven professional who wants to apply your bookkeeping / billing skills in a meaningful way while being part of a collaborative and fun team, we’d love to meet you.
