Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in federal projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems.
- Proficient in the use of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ANSYS).
- Experience with energy modeling and building performance analysis is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Capable of interpreting codes and standards relevant to mechanical engineering and construction.
- Design and analyze mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and specifications for mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to develop comprehensive project plans.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and provide recommendations for system upgrades or replacements.
- Review and approve mechanical submittals and shop drawings from contractors.
- Monitor project progress and ensure that all mechanical work aligns with project schedules and quality standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical systems during construction and after project completion.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates related to mechanical systems.
