Floor Technician / Traveling Cleaning Porter – Job Description
Position Type: Day Shift | Multiple Locations
Position Summary
The Floor Technician / Cleaning Porter is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and professional environments across multiple locations. This day-shift position includes traveling between assigned sites to perform floor care, general cleaning, and facility maintenance tasks while following all safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of floors in warehouse and commercial facilities
- Travel to multiple assigned locations during the day as scheduled
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet cleaners
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors to remove dirt, debris, and stains
- Clean carpets using specialized equipment and approved techniques
- Perform general porter duties, including:
- Trash removal
- Restroom cleaning and restocking
- High-touch surface cleaning
- Light facility upkeep
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report low stock or damaged equipment
- Follow all company policies, site-specific rules, and safety procedures
Requirements
- Steel-toe shoes required
- Reliable transportation required to travel between job sites
- Previous experience as a floor technician, cleaning porter, or custodial role preferred but not required (training provided)
- Knowledge of different flooring materials and proper cleaning methods
- Ability to safely operate floor care equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations
- Strong communication skills with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
Work Schedule

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
