Remote/Telework Eligible: Yes. This is a hybrid position.

Travel Required: Yes- To Dallas Office 1-2 Days a Week

Position Summary:

Freestone Lake and Golf is one of our new developments and we are growing! We are looking for a 

Controller to oversee the financial operations and reporting of our Freestone Club and guide financial strategic decisions. The Controller should have experience in the hospitality or leisure/resort industry and be eager to operate in a start-up environment. This position is housed in Dallas and reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications:

- Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

- Preferred, CPA, CMA, or CFA.

- Experience: 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with some experience in supervisory role,   industry-specific knowledge in hospitality or leisure services preferred.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP.

- Software Proficiency with ERP and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or specific club management software). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required for creating reports and performing data analysis.

- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Communication Skills: Ability to soundly advise managing partners, work closely with various department heads and effectively communicate financial information to non-financial managers.

- Problem-Solving: Ability to address financial discrepancies and optimize processes to ensure efficient operations.

Essential Functions:

- Manages financial statements, balance sheets, and reports.

- Ensures compliance with tax laws and financial regulations.

- Supervises accounting teams and department operations.

- Develops and implements financial policies and procedures.

- Works with Director of Finance to maintain accounting records for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

- Coordinates audits and external financial reviews.

- Monitors payroll and accounts payable/receivable.

• Base Salary: A competitive base salary aligned with industry standards and level of experience.
