Position Summary
• We are seeking a skilled Piping Designer to support steam turbine generator (STG) projects within an EPC project environment.
• This role delivers constructible piping designs from concept through detailed engineering while supporting procurement and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop piping layouts and detailed designs for STG systems including main steam, reheat, extraction, auxiliary steam, condensate, and drains.
• Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings including GA drawings, isometrics, plans, sections, and details.
• Coordinate with piping engineers, stress analysts, civil/structural, electrical, I&C, procurement, vendors, and construction teams.
• Incorporate vendor data and turbine package drawings into project designs.
• Support clash detection, model reviews, and constructability assessments.
• Ensure compliance with ASME B31 piping codes and project specifications.
• Support procurement and respond to construction RFIs and field changes.
• Assist with pipe support layout and coordination.
• Participate in site visits, field walkdowns, and brownfield tie-ins.
• Maintain drawing revisions and document control per EPC procedures.
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Design, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 5 years of piping design experience on power generation or heavy industrial EPC projects.
• Experience with high-pressure, high-temperature steam systems.
• Proficiency with Inventor, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of EPC execution phases.
• Knowledge of ASME B31 codes, piping materials, valves, fittings, and supports.
• Ability to read P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and vendor drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with combined cycle, fossil, cogeneration, or renewable power EPC projects.
• Exposure to pipe stress analysis coordination and thermal growth considerations.
• Brownfield or retrofit project experience.
• Construction support or field engineering experience.
• Experience working with multi-office EPC teams.
