Construction Estimator/Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:   The Position includes Estimation, Planning, and Project Management responsibilities. The position will be life-cycle oversight of projects from quote requests to invoicing. Estimator will be expected to perform the following duties related to developing estimates and installation plans for new projects including up to but not limited to: visiting site locations to determine specific plans and/or utilizing previous projects as research; determining crew size and timeframes needed; sourcing subcontractors for support when needed; evaluating equipment needs; on site supervision to ensure project completion as necessary; assisting the Sales and Accounting Groups with determining margins; processing change orders; providing updates within the Field Construction Group.

Must be able to work in the Pelham Alabama Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: 

•    Gain specific knowledge of our company’s Product Line and our capabilities so as to quote projects accurately
•    Create detailed work schedules for the purposes of planning and communicating with the customer
•    Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
•    Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
•    Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
•    Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
•    Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
•    Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
•    Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
•    Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
•    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•    Read and interpret all Terms and Conditions and Contracts to ensure the company is entering into acceptable agreements
•    May be requested to perform as a Project Manager role during an outage or a capital project assignment
•    Receives Field Service RFQs assigned by Product Manager and create all-encompassing field estimate specific to the request.

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
•    Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
•    Must be physically capable of accessing all locations at customer site.
•    Access all areas within a site which could include heights, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels. 
•    Will be working at times in covered environment or in an outside environment.
•    The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions:  Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Particles.
•    The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
