Position Summary
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Leadman acts as a shift leader in the absence of the Plant Manager or Supervisor. This role is responsible for maintaining orderly plant operations and performing minor equipment adjustments and repairs as needed to support Safety, Production, and Quality objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Act as a working lead within an assigned area on the production floor
Support daily operations and provide direction to team members as needed
Answer general work-related questions from employees in the designated area
Read and interpret blueprints, welding procedures, and welding symbols
Perform first-class fitting duties, including torch and plasma cutting
Perform welding as required
Delegate work assignments as necessary to meet production goals
Communicate effectively with the Plant Manager, Supervisor, and/or Foreman
Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment
Lead by example with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
Required Qualifications
Prior experience in a fabrication shop (required)
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and fabrication processes
Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
Good verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Basic reading and math skills
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret blueprints
Ability to multitask with urgency to meet customer and production demands
Ability to work independently as a self-starter
Ability to take direction from management and co-workers
