Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions of a multi-entity organization with domestic and international operations. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, consolidation of multiple operating entities, and preparation of accurate, timely financial statements. This position offers significant exposure to intercompany accounting, cost accounting, and multi-jurisdiction compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities, including elimination of intercompany transactions and balances
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts with domestic and foreign affiliates, including foreign currency translation and remeasurement
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules for external audits, bank reporting, and covenant compliance packages
- Support sales/use tax, property tax, and other state and local tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, including budget-to-actual variance analysis
- Document and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and close procedures
- Support special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and ad hoc analysis for senior management
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month-end close responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- CPA license or active CPA candidate
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting
- Exposure to foreign currency accounting (ASC 830) and international operations
- Experience supporting external audits and lender reporting
Working Conditions
Standard office environment. Extended hours may be required during month-end close, year-end close, and audit periods.
